The hell of living in the CUD - University Center Devoto

On Friday August 13 perform a function of what's up with Borges? in the Devoto Prison in University Center. Below, a chronicle of the day written by Josefina Lamarre.

that day, the CUD party made a resumption of the school year and invited the families and partners of prisoners to share a day with food, commemorative events and our role. This means that there was much scatter, all classrooms were equipped with tables CUD where family groups met to eat and drink and the acts were done in what they call the "courtyard." When we arrived, Leandro Halperin, director of the CUD (which is 35 years old) was giving a speech on the occasion of the installation of a plaque with the name of Horace to the room of legal counsel are there. Horace died a few months ago, very sick, and worked much in the CUD by their peers, helping with legal issues. It was very emotional for all of them that tribute. He also spoke about the importance of supporting education within the prison as a tool that is provided to give you the option to choose what to do with their lives as a means of increasing expectations and possibilities, and greatly appreciated and acknowledged the effort and work all teachers.

Pero la devolución fue muy buena, les gustó y se divirtieron y nos preguntaron cuándo arrancaba el taller. Maxi, uno de los únicos 9 que viven en el CUD y el encargado del proyecto Ave Fénix, me dijo lo de que la obra tendría que ser más corta para esas situaciones.

Arreglamos los jueves de 10 a 12hs, y arrancar el jueves 26 de Agosto como para empezar a poner en marcha el taller. Nos advirtieron sobre las dificultades que íbamos a tener para lograr que los penitenciarios bajen a la población y sobre la inestabilidad de los asistentes al taller, que la cosa era generar un buen estímulo para engancharlos, etc.

Cacho gave us a grateful recognition effort and saying that they knew how difficult it was for us to go there without getting a handle that they do not seem right but did not know how to do that is a topic of concerned, especially those difficulties discontinuity generated in the workshops.

The start was long because there were many people that day. In general, do not delay in going out and it a little longer to enter.

We became exhausted, but at least I believe, with the hope of creating more space for them and for us.
